Von Hand geformt Das Töpferhandwerk zählt zu den ältesten und faszinierendsten Kulturtechniken der Menschheit. An den Herstellungsverfahren hat sich über Jahrtausende nicht viel verändert. Nach wie vor sind nur wenige Werkzeuge zur Verarbeitung notwendig. Der natürliche Werkstoff wird mit der Hand geformt, geknetet, frei modelliert oder auf der Töpferscheibe gedreht. Das Ergebnis ist stets ein Unikat und trägt die individuelle Handschrift seines Schöpfers. Die Kleinserien entstanden in einer Kooperation zwischen Goebel und einer thailändischen Töpferei. Sie spielen mit der Ursprünglichkeit des Materials und dem Mut zur Verfremdung und bewegen sich somit im Spannungsfeld zwischen alt und neu – ein faszinierendes Trendthema fernab von industriell gefertigter Monotonie. The art of pottery is one of the oldest and most fascinating cultural techniques of human mankind. The manufacturing processes have hardly changed over millennia. Very few tools are still necessary for processing. The natural material is shaped by hand, kneaded, freely sculpted, or spun on the potter’s wheel. The result is always unique, bearing the individual signature of its creator. The small series were created in a collaboration between Goebel and a Thai pottery. They play with the originality of the material and dare transformation always balancing between old and new – a captivating trend far from industrially manufactured monotony. Les procédés de fabrication n’ont pas beaucoup changé au fil des millénaires. Aujourd’hui comme hier, peu d’outils sont nécessaires pour le travail. Le matériau naturel est façonné à la main, pétrit, modelé librement ou tourné sur un tour de potier. Le résultat est toujours unique et porte la signature individuelle de son créateur. Ces modèles sont nés d’une coopération entre Goebel et une poterie thaïlandaise. Ils jouent avec l’originalité du matériau et son usage innovant, entre l’ancien et le nouveau – un thème tendance fascinant, loin de la monotonie fabriquée industriellement.
